Who runs this site

Finish The Colleys is an independent, non-commercial site run by a resident of The Colleys, Barrowby Road, Grantham. It is not run by or on behalf of the Colleys Residents Group, Barrowby Parish Council, any council or any political party. It has no connection with Vistry Group, Countryside or their subsidiaries. "Vistry" and "Countryside" are names and trade marks of their owners and are used here only to identify them.

Sources and accuracy

Every date and requirement on this site is taken from a public or published source, which is named next to it: South Kesteven District Council planning documents, council reports, statements by Lincolnshire County Council and Barrowby Parish Council, and Vistry and Countryside's own newsletters and statements. Where we quote what someone said, we say who said it and when. Where we describe residents' experience, we say so.

Statements of opinion on this site are honestly held, based on the facts set out alongside them. We aim to be accurate and fair, and we update the site as things change. Counters and clocks are calculated automatically from the dates shown.

Photos

Photos are taken and added by residents, who confirm they live on The Colleys and took the photos themselves. Each photo shows what that resident found on the day it was taken or added. The issue shown may have been dealt with since it was published. If something has been put right, tell us and we will mark the photo as fixed with the date, rather than leave it looking current.

We remove location data from every photo before publishing. We do not knowingly publish photos showing people's faces, car number plates or the inside of anyone's home, and we will remove any that do.

By adding a photo, a resident confirms they took it and gives this site permission to publish it, and to include it in the weekly letter to Vistry. They can ask for it to be removed at any time.

Corrections and right of reply

If anything on this site is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it promptly, normally within two working days, and note the correction.

Vistry, Countryside, the councils and anyone else mentioned are welcome to reply. Vistry's replies to our weekly letters are published in full on this site, with personal details (names, phone numbers and email addresses) removed.

Complaints about content

If you believe something on this site, including something a resident has posted, is inaccurate, unlawful or infringes your rights, email hello@finishthecolleys.co.uk with the page, the content and why. We will review it promptly and, where appropriate, correct, remove or add your response. Content posted by residents can be taken down while a complaint is looked at.

Letters and requests residents send

The complaint letters and information requests on this site are templates. Each resident chooses whether to send them and who to. They can send them from their own email, in which case nothing they type is sent to or stored by this site, or ask us to send them for them.

If a resident asks us to send their letters, we first email them a link to confirm the request is genuinely theirs. Only after they click it are the letters sent, in their name, as "[Their name] via Finish The Colleys", with replies going directly to the resident and a copy to them. The letters are the resident's own: we do not publish them or any replies to them. Their name, address and email are used only to send the letters and to keep a private record of who sent what and when, which only the site owner can see and which is deleted after 30 days. An unconfirmed request is deleted after 48 hours. To stop the same letter being sent more than once a month from one household, we keep a scrambled one-way code made from the address and email (it cannot be turned back into either) for 30 days, plus a count of letters sent.

Not advice

This site is information about one housing development. It is not legal, financial or professional advice. If you need advice about your own home, speak to a solicitor or Citizens Advice.

Privacy

What we collect. When you add a photo or your household: your house number and street, and, only if you choose to give them, your name and email address. When you add a photo: the photo, its category, caption and, if you choose, a map pin.

Why. To check that you live on The Colleys, to count each household once, and, if you ask, to email you updates. Our lawful basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in running a residents' campaign.

What is published. Only the street name with your photo, and street totals for households. Your house number, name and email are never published, never shared with Vistry, councils or anyone else, and never used for anything else.

Analytics. If you agree when asked, we use Google Analytics to count visits and which features are used. Until you agree, no analytics cookies are set and Google only receives anonymous, cookieless signals. No advertising cookies are ever used. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.

How long. Until the estate is finished and the site closes, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever is sooner.

Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, or to stop updates, at any time: email hello@finishthecolleys.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
